On January 1st, 2019, Hugo Terrazas was driving his family home from vacation in Wisconsin Dells.  While turning at an intersection, they were struck by a semi that went through a red light.  His wife Lisa was killed instantly as the right side of the car took the initial blow.  Hugo was taken by flight for life to a hospital in Madison, where he had surgery for bleeding in the brain and a blood clot.  The amazing neurosurgeon there saved him from dying that day.  They were able to control the bleeding on the brain and the outlook looks positive.  He was removed from an induced coma this week and is beginning the slow recovery process.  Their youngest daughter also suffered a fractured vertebrae, collarbone and pelvis but is now out of the hospital.  The bones will heel but the pain from losing her mommy will always be there.  Hugo is a proud business owner and is actively involved in his church as well as Junior Deacon of Ozaukee Lodge #17.  The daily presence of Hugo and his wife Lisa is deeply missed by their friends and family.  Their eldest daughter, Tatiana was uninvolved in the crash and continues to show bravery and strength while her sister and father recover from their injuries.
