Me and Elijah wanted to give an update on his TBI (traumatic brain injury) considering that we have had a noticeable setback.
3 weeks ago Elijah was tickling David our youngest (age 2) and David ended up headbutting him. This hit reaggravated his old injury, which brought back: sight & sound sensitivities, constant dizziness, headaches, inability to walk straight lines and without any endurance.
Thankfully we have found an incredible Neuro therapist, and have allot of hope for his recovery. It's for this therapy that we are starting this gofundme.
We are going to try and do an intensive therapy program first. (It's Elijah he does everything with intensity.) It's 2 to 4 hours a day 5 days a week for 2 weeks. If his brain can't handle its tempo, we will switch to 2 to 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Along with other exercises and "homework" from the therapist, we will be trying to see if we can get Elijah back to where he was before this last hit, if not even better addressing his original brain damage.
We recognize this has been a long road, and it has been eight years of a grind. So seeing a second opportunity to find true progress in healing is a rare gem to come upon. The first opportunity four years ago, got him out of his wheelchair. And we are optomistic that we will receive that much of an improvment in his daily life from this one aswell. And for this we are looking to raise $15,000.00 to cover this whole process.
