Help for the Shannons Medical bills
Donation protected
The Shannons are the kind of people who will give without ever expecting in return. If you have had the pleasure of meeting them you know exactly what we mean. And now we have the opportunity as a community to give back to a family that asks for nothing.
On behalf of the Shannon family, we are fundraising for the cost of Reggie’s kidney transplant. Reggie was blessed with a new kidney on October 22, 2023. The emotional burden of such a life-changing surgery is more than enough to deal with and we would love to be able to ease the financial burden.
We want Reggie & Mary to be able to focus on his recovery without worrying so much about the large financial strain (insurance covers a lot, but there will still be a large outstanding balance for such a big procedure). Reggie will be off work for a while.
We would so appreciate any and all support friends and family are willing to give to help Reggie and Mary through this time.

Hello friends and family,
This may be your first time hearing about my story but in 2006, I found out that I had kidney disease. At first, it was at stage 3 and something I had to watch. After going through a severe knee infection and stomach cancer, my kidneys took a turn for the worst and it finally got to the point where I needed dialysis. Prior to receiving a new kidney, I was on peritoneal dialysis which I was able to receive at home on a daily basis. I continued working full-time as a builder, a job I love, for First Texas Homes. I am currently involved in the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Posse, North Texas Range Riders Inc., and various other activities that mainly involve my horses. Those of you who know me know that I have a big love for all animals, especially my horses.
I have been able to keep up a meaningful lifestyle despite my kidney function. At this point in my life, my kidney function got worse and I had two treatment options: stay on dialysis for life OR get a kidney transplant. The average wait time on the deceased donor list is five years. But on Sunday, October 22nd at 4 am, I received my life-changing call. I didn’t expect this to happen this quickly because I had only been on the active list for a month. Even though the caller informed me I was a runner-up to receive a transplant, there could be a chance that the primary recipient would not match.
I didn’t get my hopes up because most people wait a few years to receive this precious gift. And I still could not believe that they had just called me.
You wanna hear God laugh? Tell Him your plans.
Lo and behold, I was the match. A mere five hours later, I could now look at a future that before I had only dared to dream of.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers and support. At the end of the day, God got the last laugh.
Miracles are for everybody!
