Today I'm coming to you as a Mom and I'm sharing with you all the story of my middle son and his family and asking for your help on their behalf.
John and Michelle were high school sweethearts who married and have 3 children. Josh, age 20 is in his 2nd year at Alfred State College. Kylie age 17 just graduated High school 3rd in her class and is attending Binghamton University in the fall and Jack who has a learning disability is age 11.
John had a life altering, near death car accident 13 years ago, leaving him unable to return to work for many months. It was Michelle's income as a Registered Nurse that kept the family a float. After an extensive rehab and recovery John was left unable to do the job he had before the accident. He took a much lower paying job, due to his now more limiting physical abilities. Michelle continued to work as a chemotherapy nurse carrying the families heath insurance and paying the majority of the families expenses.
It was Michelle's income as an RN that kept the family going. She has dedicated her adult life helping others in need, as a chemotherapy nurse and most recently doing Covid19 testing throughout the Covid19 pandemic. putting herself at risk of contracting Covid19 for the sake and well being of others.
Today it is Michelle that is faced with a health crisis. Diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2020, Michelle has had to have a Mastectomy and lymph node removal and will start treatment very soon.
I'm asking as a Mother for help for John and Michelle and my grand children. Michelle's income not only pays most of the families expenses but she carries the families health insurance. Since she has only been in her current position a few years and has a child with special needs she has already run out of sick time long before she is well enough to return to work full time and the family will be left without health insurance and unable to meet their monthly expenses.
Any help our friends and family can give will be greatly appreciated as well as your prayers for Michelle's speedy recovery. I thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart. Love Pat
