Help for the Piedrahita Family

Donation protected
During a long-awaited summer trip to Washington and Oregon to visit both Eddie's and Marni's families, they were in a terrible accident while in Oregon with Marni's parents in the car too. All were in a car together on Sunday morning when they were in a head-on collision outside Tillamook, Oregon. They had just been all together for a few days at the beach when it happened. The adults were airlifted to trauma centers in Portland while the kids were left behind at the ER in Tillamook. Meg and Jim (Marni's twin sister and brother-in-law) were halfway home to Seattle and turned around to get to Tillamook, Josh (Marni's brother) was headed home to Bothell and turned around to go to Portland. They were reunited in Portland when the kids were released from the hospital in Tillamook Monday, 6/26. Luke has a broken sternum. Sydney had a concussion. Both are having some pain, but are not too bad. Both are safe and not in any danger from injuries. Larry (Marni's dad) was in ICU, but after successful surgery, he's been moved to a regular room. He’s very banged up but is pretty okay (physically) overall. Judy (Marni's mom) is in bad condition and is intubated. She had internal injuries and a back injury and has had surgery for the former but not yet the latter. Marni has had surgery for a broken clavicle and broken sacrum, but can now move both legs and is improving. Eddie is the most severe and is in a coma with a serious brain injury. He has yet to regain consciousness, but with a reduction in swelling, has not yet needed brain surgery and is showing movement in arms and legs. The recovery will be long and draining, physically, emotionally, and financially as both Marni and Eddie will be unable to work. This fundraiser is for the Piedrahita family, not for me, Jennifer Wallace. I am a long time next door neighbor of the Piedrahita family and my oldest daughter is Sydney’s best friend. I’m just the organizer. The money will be transferred to the beneficiary, Meg Brunner, who is Marni’s twin sister. The funds will then be used to pay for the needs of the children and adults while they are receiving care, with the balance transferred to the adults as soon as they are able to manage their own care. Your generous donations will help in a variety of ways including: -medical expenses -household bills -financial support for the kids' needs and care while their parents are hospitalized -transportation when they are ready to return home -home accommodations and rehabilitation costs and therapies as needed. We can't anticipate all they will need, but the money will be there as additional needs arise. Thank you for the support.
