On Monday, April 22nd my brother in law, Cole, was in a serious motor vehicle accident while driving home from work on Hwy 401. He has severe injuries, but is thankfully in stable condition at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Everyone involved in his rescue and care feel it is a miracle that he is still here with us, and we are so grateful.

We are unaware at this time as to how long he will remain in hospital, but we do know that the road to recovery will be long and hard on both Cole, and everyone in his family - especially his wife and two children who depended on him everyday for support. At this time, my sister, Angela, is currently still on maternity leave with their two small children, Leila (2.5) and Eddie (1), and our combined family has come together to help care for the children as she navigates daily hospital trips, insurance claims, work benefits, and also his ongoing care - much less her own.

It has been an exhaustive few days and we are grateful to everyone for the outpouring of love and support we have received. Many have asked us what they can do to help, and a few suggested a fundraiser, which brings us here. We (their family) want to ensure that Cole and Angela don’t have to worry about the changes in finances and other daily life stressors as much as possible while Cole recovers.

This fundraiser is to help relieve any current financial concern before they begin to see any income coming in, and to aid in the coming months of recovery by allowing them to pay for any additional services they may require to help in their day to day life. Whether it be nanny services to help with their small children, additional assistance to support Cole in his rehabilitation, meal plan kits, maid services, or anything else to make things easier. Anything helps.
