Hi , my name is Andrea Gardner I am starting this go fund me for my first grandson Damien . He was born on October 24, 2021 and he passed away on November 5, 2021. This is a very devastating time for everyone and was unexpected. My grandson was born with a very rare genetic disease called FBXL4-related encephalopathy mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome. It is very rare and untreatable . Due to this disease always being progressive , it is also fatal. When both parents are carriers of this mutated gene the baby has a 25% chance of being born with the genetic disease. The mutated gene caused Damien to not be able to process energy properly which in turn caused all of his vital organs to fail. Every cell in Damiens body was made up of this mutated gene. This rare condition is undetectable, incurable and requires two copies of the mutated gene (one from each parent). My grandson was with us for twelve days and touched so many of our lives.
So please help us pay for everything after the loss of my grandson. Any dime would be a good help for him and the parents who had to suffer seeing him being let go, he's been through so much all in the pasts weeks since he had been born, we were lucky enough to see him while he was in the hospital, out of your spare time if you see this please help us get money for the people who have to suffer this poor loss of baby Damien, again any dime that you give would help us and everyone's heart that Damien touched, we will miss him so much.
