Help for the LaSalle Family

Hi, I have been friends with Phyllis LaSalle for over 40

years. Tragically,  Phyllis' daughter Elizabeth (Liz) passed away on March 15, 2022.

She was 29 years old.  Liz suffered from schizophrenia, severe anxiety among other severe

mental disorders. Liz was in numerous mental health facilities and would be

discharged home after a 30 day stay. Phyllis pleaded with social workers, doctors

and psychiatrists to please put Liz in a long term mental health facility because she

couldn't care for her at home in the mental state she was in. Liz suffered silently with

the voices in her head and was prescribed numerous anti psychotics that didn't work.

Liz became out of touch with reality and became harder to handle at home. The last

time Phyllis saw Liz was on 1/28/2022 as the police took her out in handcuffs, after

throwing a hammer at her Mother. Liz was sent to another mental health facility and

was discharged on 2/25/2022,  but she did not go home. Liz was found unresponsive on

the sidewalk on 2/28/2022, after suffering a cardiac arrest. The EMTs did CPR and

shocked her to get her heart beating again,  but Liz was without oxygen for over 30

minutes and after 2 weeks in the hospital, the final MRI of her brain showed no

activity. On 3/15/2022, Phyllis, her son Ryan and ex husband sat with Liz after she

was taken off life support until her last breath was taken.

Phyllis has not only suffered the loss of a child, but she also hasn't been able to work for

the past year while having to care for Liz on a daily basis. She is 1 year behind on her

property taxes, utility bills etc. She was going to food pantries and asking friends and

family for help.

Phyllis needs to grieve for her daughter but also needs to get back on her feet

financially.
