Help for the kindest man I know

Early in June 2020, one of my closest friends almost died. He was bleeding internally, his spine was broken, and there was a question as to whether he was going to live for several weeks.  Well, he had quite the bounce back, but he now has medical bills and no job. Please help him land on his feet. I don't want to see him come home only to land in fresh new trouble.
