Dear Friends of Jennifer Kelley,
On Saturday, September 8th, as the sun rose over Inman Park, Jennifer's salon, Cameo, was completely destroyed by smoke and water from a fire that occurred in a neighboring unit. The loss to the salon was total; the loss for our beloved friend Jennifer has been devastating. Jennifer and her business partner, Dorothy, put their hearts and souls into making this beautiful salon "a comfortable space to enjoy getting your hair done." If you've ever sat in one of the Cameo chairs, if you've ever had your hair washed and styled by one of their talented and personable stylists, you'd know that Cameo was a truly special place. In short, it was a place to rejuvenate your soul.
As this realization sinks in for our sweet friend, she must now deal with the heartbreaking work of rebuilding her business from the ground up. As you can see in the picture, the water damage from fighting the fire was bad enough, but firefighters had no choice but to use Cameo's walls to access the adjacent unit where the fire started. The smoke damaged even the bottles of hair product on the shelves, making them unsalvageable.
It's important to be thankful that no one was hurt in this fire! As Jennifer said to a friend (because she's always one to look on the bright side), "It's going to be ok. It is terrible, but I am grateful it wasn't my house or my kids...."
And I am truly grateful for those things as well, but our sweet friend needs you now! Although insurance will certainly help rebuild the bricks and mortar of her business, Jennifer, her husband Bryan, and their three beautiful children could really use your donations to help keep them financially above water until they're back on their feet again!
