Help for the Ioakeim Family

Dear Neighbors, 

I know so many of us in North Arlington and beyond have used Oiko Systems for all of our handyman needs - Maria Ioakeim is such a joy to interact with, and her husband Dimitrios is so sweet and always does such great work. They are two of the kindest, most caring people you could meet, with a wonderful blend of warmth and professionalism in every encounter. They have two children, including a brand new baby boy, and their small business, which they run together, supports their family.

Unfortunately, last week they got some awful news - their daughter Konstantina has been diagnosed with leukemia. They are just at the beginning of this journey, and it can be so overwhelming. I asked Maria if it would be alright if I set up this page to help raise money - even with insurance, dealing with a sudden illness like this can severely deplete a family's--especially a self-employed family's--savings along with their energy. From paying for parking at hospitals, to lost income from going to appointments, to all the copays, the costs really begin to add up. Maria and Dimitrios are reeling right now from the news, and they need our help to build up a cushion so that they can be there for their little girl whenever she needs them. Dimitrios is taking a few weeks off so they can be together as a family and get their gameplan together, but there are two things you can do: 

1. Continue to use Dimitrios (www.OikoSystems.com) for all of your home handyman needs, as his schedule allows. Maria will let you know when he's able to fit you in after his time off this month. He has always done amazing work in our home, from drywall to grout to changing out light fixtures to putting together a playset in the backyard, and his prices are always reasonable. 

2. Give what you can to this campaign.

4. Send whatever prayers, good vibes, healing energy, etc are consistent with your belief system for their little girl's health and safety.
