Just one year ago, our fantastic brother, Kerry Hinton married his eternal sweetheart, Jody. Their love story is one of my all-time favorites because they came into each other's life at just the right time, bringing joy and light into other's lives after years of hardship. Their 6 children came together as friends and new siblings (3 of his and 3 of hers) and Jody and Kerry were so excited for their future as a family of 8.
However, sometimes God's plans are different from ours. Only six months after their wedding, Kerry was diagnosed with esophogeal cancer. They learned that it was already in his lymph nodes, but they were hopeful and started fighting to beat it. Most people didn't even know that Kerry had cancer because he was so in love that he couldn't wipe the smile from his face. :) Things looked pretty good until early October of this year, when they learned that chemotherapy was no longer helping. The cancer had spread throughout his organs.
Our handsome brother passed away peacefully at home on November 5, joining our father, who had just passed two weeks prior.
Anyone who knows Jody is immediately drawn to her infectious ability to love and accept people. It is that love that immediately made Kerry's children feel accepted and at home when they married, and will continue to bless their lives in his absense. Jody will be the sole provider not only for herself and her daughter who is still at home, but Kerry's amazing children as well. The road ahead is not going to be an easy one for Jody as she now has a family to care for on her own.
Many people have asked how they can help this family. Besides loving them and praying for them, the best way to help this family is to help them financially. Medical expenses, and weeks off of work have been adding up and it will be very difficult for Jody without our help.
An account in Kerry Hinton's name has been set up at Cache Valley Bank in St. George, UT to collect funds. If you are not local to St. George, please feel free to use this Go Fund Me account as a way to donate. We would like to raise at least $25,000 by Christmas for the Hinton family. What a blessing this would be for them, and a beautiful tribute to our brother who gave so much during his life on earth by lifting people with his joyful spirit and humour. And what a blessing this would be for all of his loved ones, knowing that his family will be taken care of for a while. How grateful we are for any amount that you can give. Thank you. This means so much.
