Help for the Herbst Family

My friends Alyssa and Brandon are going through a rough patch right now and this fundraiser has been created as a way to help them with the medical bills that will most likely be piling up.

Aside from being the wonderful people they are, they run a farm sanctuary in which they care for over 60 animals.

Hello friends, Alyssa here (granted it’s usually me on here but this is a more personal post). Brandon has been battling a herniated disc since February 23rd. Since Sunday it has gotten exponentially worse to the point where the disc is pushing up against a nerve and he cannot walk and is in almost constant pain, ranging from moderately bad to excruciating, the worst lasting as long as 20-30 minutes. Until he is healed he is basically unable to walk, let alone help out in the barn. With a busy two year old at home, resting is next to impossible, and I have no choice but to continue to go to work as I am self employed (aka no PTO).

I would never want to reach out to the public in this way but this is the hardest I’ve ever been pushed physically, emotionally, and mentally. We are asking that if you have any way to help the sanctuary, be it with your time volunteering or with a monetary gift through our website, we would be incredibly grateful, as would the animals.

We would also like to thank our family, friends, and volunteers who have stepped in so far in our time of need but we are far from being out of the water.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, I hate to bring it up as I have always been a glass half full kind of person who’s motto tends to be “it’s going to be ok!”, but there are times when I need to step back and realize as much as I want to in my heart, I can’t do it all. The animals deserve me to reach out❤️
