Help for the Helm Family
Donation protected
Daniel Helm (DJ) is a player on the 8th Grade Columbia team for Blaine Youth Basketball and the 2009 NPL team for Twin Cities Rush. His quick speed and maneuverability is a key asset on his team and he is a very thoughtful teammate. DJ's mom, Amanda and sister Hope can be seen cheering the team on at games and tournaments. Unfortunately, Amanda hasn't been able to attend many lately due to recent medical challenges.
Amanda is facing a Stage IV Melanoma diagnosis. This news comes after Amanda discovered a lump, found it was in her lymph nodes and most recently was told that the cancer is in her right lung as well. She has started treatment at the Mayo Clinic. Amanda was working as a nurse but at this point does not know when or if she can return to work.
The family has already lost their beloved dad and husband to ALS a few years ago, and Amanda has been a pillar of strength and support for her family.
Community support is requested to help this family so Amanda can fight this fight with everything she has and not have to focus on funding for medical expenses. Amanda has spent her career taking care of others including her late husband. Let's take care of her in ways that we can. We want her on the sidelines watching many more of DJ's basketball and soccer games.
Please consider a donation to help this family if you are able. Prayers for their continued strength and healing as they navigate this are ever appreciated. Thank you!
