Help for the Hartley's

On Monday, July 8, 2019, 17 year old Kyle Hartley's world was forever changed.  Kyle lived an active life (and he plans and we pray he continues) riding dirt bikes, side by side and ATVs. He is part of the National Honor Society at Midland Valley High School and will be starting his Senior year this fall. Kyle has an amazing family and great group of friends who he loves dearly and they have been by his side daily encouraging him to keep going.  While working for the City of Aiken and riding on the back of a city sanitation truck he was struck by a mini van who was going "too fast for conditions."  He was pinned and rolled between the van and garbage truck.  Due to the quick thinking of his co-worker in using his belt as a tourniquet his life was spared. He was transported to Augusta University (MCG as known by the locals) trauma center.  His family was informed he would need immediate emergency surgery to remove his right leg or lose his life.  He has since had a second surgery to shorten the leg further and potentially is facing another surgery on his right arm. He and his parents are currently scheduled to go to Shepherd Rehabilitation Center in Atlanta, GA on either Thursday or Friday July 18-19, 2019, since Aiken does not offer "children's" rehabilitation facilities.  It is going to be a long road to recovery for this young man and his family. 
Please help this family as Kevin and Kristi (Kyle's parents) will be out of work and out of town for approximately 30-45 days while caring for Kyle.  They will be away from their family, friends and awesome support system that they have here in Aiken.
