Help For the Harbers

***SPECIAL NOTE:  The direct beneficiaries of this fundraiser are Brian and Joie Harber. Thank you for your love and support of the Harber Family!***

In 2015, my brother-in-law Brian (then 28) began to experience sleep deprivation, energy crashes, and debilitating intestinal issues. Brian was spending much of his time in bed, unable to work effectively to provide for his growing family. Unknowingly, the Harbers had been living in a mold-ridden home, triggering Brian’s serious health issues. The family finally moved to a new home in 2018, where Brian’s digestive issues cleared but were replaced with chronic fatigue and severe brain fog. Brian attempted various treatments in Florida, but he continued to struggle to work at his job at Florida College and function at home.

Before moving to Nashville, TN to be near family and live in a different climate, Brian began seeing Dr. John Monhollon at Florida Integrated Medical Center. Dr. Monhollon ordered specialized testing which confirmed Lyme Disease and several co-infections. With the help of several private monetary gifts over time, Brian was able to begin treatments. While these treatments have reduced the viruses, more treatments are necessary to suppress infections, rebuild his immune system, and hopefully begin to normalize their lives. These specialized treatments are costly and not covered by insurance. Brian and Joie along with their five children need our help to provide funds for his ongoing medical expenses in his journey to wellness.

Health expenses include:

- Multiple advanced treatments for Lyme Disease
- Follow-up tests and treatments for Lyme from a specialty lab in Europe
- In-depth testing and detox for mold toxicity
- Additional supplements/treatments to rebuild damage to Brian’s immune system, adrenals, and intestines (the most affected areas)
- Travel expenses to Florida for treatments and office visits with Dr. Monhollon
- Aid for Brian to get established with a local Nashville specialist (not covered by
insurance) who will coordinate Brian’s daily care along with Dr. Monhollon in Florida

We love Brian and his family dearly. Our goal is to help Brian regain his former health so that he can work effectively to provide for his family and to be the healthy, vibrant husband and father that he longs to be. Brian and Joie’s deep faith in God will continue to carry them through as they travel this health journey. They ask for your fervent prayers for healing, and they would be very grateful for any financial help to pay for Brian’s ongoing medical expenses. Please give if you can, and please share this! Thank you for your generosity and support for this amazing young Christian husband and father.

Note from Joie –
Anyone who took the time to donate, pray for, or even read our story, thank you! There are no words that can convey how humbled, loved, and thankful we are for you. Throughout this journey, our faith has been tested and strengthened through each challenge, and every single time God answered our prayers, not always in the way we thought He would, but in the way we needed. We are also extremely thankful to Lisa Booher and my sister Jessica Moore for hounding us to start a fundraiser to let others bless and help our family. Their work (and the work of many others!) to share our story is truly appreciated.

Meet Brian and Joie’s Family

My husband Brian is originally from Nashville, TN, and is thrilled to be back in his hometown and worship with his family at Broadmoor church, the same congregation in which he grew up. As a graphic artist, he’s worked freelance, was the marketing art director at Florida College for 9 years, and briefly in Nashville as a regional marketing specialist for Thrivent. He loves being a husband and father, running and hiking, dabbling in his Star Wars/LEGO/film hobbies, and dreams of starting our own God-centered theatre company one day to inspire others. He’s the owner and illustrator of Creation to Revelation, which many teachers and parents use in their home to teach young children as well as used in missionary work around the world.

I (Joie) am living my dream of being a wife and mother. Though the past few years have been challenging, it has taught me to rely on God more than I ever imagined. Brian and I met and fell in love on the Hutchinson stage at FC during the production of Little Women and ever since then we have shared a unique love for theatre and performing and enjoy it most when we can get our whole family involved. Some of my passions now are homeschooling my children, and helping Creation To Revelation in any way I can, with tutorials, songwriting, or helping other parents and teachers learn how to use Creation To Revelation to teach their children about God.

Evelyn (8) is probably the friendliest young lady you will meet. She has a heart that cares for all and is anxious that others feel loved and appreciated. She has taken on the role of big sister since she was 15 months old and continues to shine as she mothers her siblings and literally dances through life.

Gray (7) is our philosopher who feels deeply and is well on his way to becoming a Star Wars expert. Lately, he can be found creating lego ships, writing “book reports” of his favorite stories, and climbing trees as high as the branches allow.

Alec (6) is the most affectionate and slightly crazy person in our family if only to make others smile and laugh. He can’t get enough hugs and kisses and loves being with his brothers and sisters and has a heart for service.

Annabelle (almost 4) is our strong-willed and passionate girl that wants to make everything in life “beautiful-er”, and ready to take on anything her siblings can do. Her favorite things include dressing up in costumes and taking care of her baby dolls.

Peter: (14 months)
We are so thankful that God decided to bring him into our lives and remind us the He is our rock, though life seems so challenging and uncertain. He is the joy and delight in our family, the sunny smile in our day. He is a daddy’s boy and crazy about his siblings, especially his oldest sister, Evelyn who is a second momma to him.
