Help for the Griffiths
Donation protected
As many of you know, Jake Griffiths had a stroke on December 23rd. Jake was at home and woke up from a nap with jumbled speech and weakness in the right side of his body. He was taken to the hospital where they found out he had a stroke on the left backside of his brain affecting his speech, balance, and the right side of his body. He had brain swelling, loss of the use of the right side of his body, and slurred speech. Jake was in the hospital for 22 days and just got home on Friday, January 14th. Now the real work starts for Jake through daily physical therapy to get back to his normal life.
Jake owns Vista Fence and Marianne is a Special Education teacher with Vista Unified School District. Marianne and Jake have three boys Rylan (15), Dylan (18), and Tyler (20), and are longtime residents of Vista. Dylan is currently serving his mission in Louisiana. Tyler has stepped up and is learning how to run Vista Fence. The Griffiths are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vista, North County Stars Water Polo and Vista High Water Polo.
During Jake’s recovery, Marianne needs to be home to see him through his recovery and many doctors’ appointments. The support from family and friends has already been incredible and The Griffith family is blessed to be surrounded with so much love. Many continue to ask how they can continue to help the family. Due to both Jake and Marianne being out of work during his recovery we have put together a GoFundMe to help them cover their monthly bills. This will help the whole family focus on Jake’s recovery.
Jake is positive and strong and ready to fight this battle head-on! What lies in front of him and the family is very stressful, so as their friends, we would like to take whatever stress we can off of their plate. Household bills, treatments, physical therapy, home modifications and constant trips to the doctor will all add up. Our goal is to relieve any stress that could occur financially, so Jake and his family can solely focus on healing.
We all know how much Jake and his family are loved by so many which is why we created this page to show our continued support. Due to Covid, we are limited in the ways we can provide, so GoFundMe is our best option. As a community, friends, family, and as parents, I ask that you please help them any way you can. If you are unable to donate financially please say a prayer for the family.
Please join us in helping the Griffith Family!
