Over the last 3 months, our beautiful friend and loved one, Grace, has been plagued with a perplexing neurological condition that landed her in the hospital a 1 hour drive away from home and away from her husband Marshall and beautiful twins, Isabela and Jensen.
Grace was admitted to hospital on July 30, and still has no answers to her increasingly severe symptoms. She has reached the point where she cannot go to the bathroom without assistance and can barely eat or drink. She is experiencing constant nausea, vomiting, numbness in her face, ringing in her ears, memory loss and many other distressing symptoms. Walking, sitting or any form of activity makes her symptoms worse. She is completely bed bound. She is on a number of medications which make her feel unlike herself. She is under investigation for rare auto-immune disease, or potential malignancy. So far, infection, Lyme disease and Zika virus have been ruled out. Her condition has stumped a number of doctors and we are hoping for answers soon from the Mayo Clinic. There is a chance that Grace may need to be an inpatient for a long period of time, or she may need to undergo surgery requiring a long recovery and convalescence. Grace has not seen Izzie or Jensen in over a week and the little ones are struggling because they do not understand why Mom is sick and not better by now.
Grace and her family have now been faced with a very scary medical condition as well as the financial burden that is weighing heavily on them. Marshall is struggling everyday to decide whether to go to work to make money or to travel to Indy to be with Grace, as she is completely alone. He does not have insurance or coverage for this type of emergency, so the family has been left without an income. He should not be faced with this decision and they need help.
Izzie and Jensen are both 5 years old (twins) with special needs. The two of them thrive in their routine with Mom and Dad and have been completely thrown for a loop with all of this. This is an extremely difficult situation for all involved, especially the twins.
Funds raised will go directly to helping the Greenbank's pay for travel expenses for Marshall to travel to be with Grace, childcare costs, medical bills, expenses related to things Grace needs while she is in the hospital, as well as help keep them afloat during this very difficult time.
The situation is urgent. Stress is at an all time high, especially for Marshall who is feeling the pressure to support his wife and his family. If you know Grace, you know that it is unlike her to ever ask for help.
Let's help Grace, Marshall, Izzie and Jensen by easing the burden on them in this extremely difficult and unpredictable situation that they are in. They are not alone in this fight and any generosity, no matter how small would be forever appreciated.
Please keep Grace and her family in your prayers today and for the days and weeks to come. They are facing a tough battle.
