Help for the Glick Family

Ananda Glick is a loving mother and wife. Shes fallen ill and the medical expenses are wearing on her family.  In Anamda’s Words: In July 2018, I broke my toe. I wasn’t really going to do anything about this, as a former ballet dancer - I’ve always just ‘taped’ a toe and moved on with life. Unfortunately, my toe didn’t really heal this time… and so I went to my Doctor in September and she told me that the breaks in the bone were not healing, for which she prescribed an orthopedic boot. I was to be in the boot for 6-8 weeks in the hopes that the bones would heal. I wore this boot for several weeks. On November 6th I began feeling some pain in my hip, which I thought was due to wearing the boot and having my alignment thrown off. I woke up at 5 am on Wednesday morning and my entire left leg was cold, heavy and hard. I called for my husband and when he helped me get up I became overwhelmingly nauseous and dizzy. He said that my face went white and I lost all color. He wanted to call an ambulance, but I thought for sure I was overreacting and it had to be just a pinched nerve in my leg or something. We drove to the ER here in the mountains. At the ER they wanted to take me by helicopter to Denver because they were unable to locate a pulse in my leg. They found a clot that went from my ankle to just beneath my heart. The clot was caused by a perfect storm of living at this very high altitude, wearing the boot and taking a birth control that causes clotting. They transported me by ambulance, from Summit County down to Denver at St. Anthony’s where I was taken into emergency surgery to remove the clot. They were unable to remove all of the clot and so they placed me on Heparin, an IV blood thinner. The remaining clot left in my body moved through the right side of my heart and lodged in my lung. This lead to a pulmonary embolism. Due to complications, I was also dealing with uncontrollable bleeding. They were able to get the bleeding under control after several days in the hospital. Once they were able to stabilize me I was released from the Hospital, but have been unable to return to work full-time just yet. They expect me to make a full recovery and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity I have been granted to live. To be here and to Love. To continue to experience the depths of this beautiful human experience. I know how very precious it is. I know how very fragile it is. I know how quickly it all changes. If Quinn wasn’t home that morning…… I truly believe that I would not be here today. That man saved my life, he helped me fight and stay strong… because I fell apart a few times. I was terrified, and I was hurting and I was so tired. I just wanted to go…. But his Love and his bravery and his support… kept me going. This has devastated us financially. I was unable to work for 2 weeks, and the expense of the medicine and the medical bills are astronomical. We already told Jakob that there wasn’t going to be any money for Christmas presents, he’s super sweet and said that having me here was the best present he could ask for…. We can’t afford our mortgage, or our electricity, or the blood thinning medicine that I require for the next several months. I don’t know how much info you want to share, or if you have questions or need more or if I shared too much…. But we are desperate now. I’m super grateful for your help….
