Help the Family of Richard Prackup
Donation protected

On May 27, 2021, Richard Prackup, age 54, lost his battle with head and neck cancer after only three years. Richard was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2018. He initially underwent a devastating surgical resection of half his tongue plus numerous other surgeries to remove and repair the damage done by his cancer. This was followed by chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. Eventually, his treatment was complicated by his cancer's return and tumor involvement of his brain, heart, and soft tissues. His last days were spent in the medical intensive care unit in a medically induced coma. He ultimately perished as a result of septic shock and respiratory failure.
Richard’s last request was “Don’t give up on me. I’m going to fight this.” His family prayed over him and kept vigil at his bedside. However, his ravaged body could no longer sustain his ambitious desire to fight.
Richard leaves behind his beloved wife, Leila, and three children, Richard, Emily, and Andrew. The family is now faced with overwhelming medical and funeral expenses. We are hoping your donations can help the family in their time of need and help alleviate the stress of these overwhelming expenses.
Below is a message from Richard's wife, Leila:
"My heart is broken forever. It is with immense sadness to let you know that the love of my life, my husband Richard Prackup passed today to be with God. He was the best husband, father, son, and brother that anyone could ask for. He is our hero and battled till the very end.
It was love at first sight and we were 18 and 19 years old respectively. We had a beautiful life raising our family and I wish we had more time to grow old together. Rest easy my love for our faith is strong and I know I will see you again."
