Help for the family of Bob Martel

Over the holidays, my good friend Bob Martel experienced a medical catastrophe. Starting with a severe blood infection that attacked his heart, he has had multiple strokes, heart surgery to replace a previously replaced aortic valve, and various other life saving procedures.

 

Since Jan. 3, 2022 he’s been in a coma, on a ventilator, and on dialysis. He recently had a tracheotomy to take the place of the ventilator and will have a feeding tube placed directly to his stomach soon, to replace the tube that has been going through his nose. As he remains in a coma, there is no way to predict what the future holds for him, his wife Jen and their two sons, Brady, age 17, and Henry, age 11. In the near future, he’ll be transferred to a sub-acute care hospital with a long term care facility a distinct possibility. Bob's medical expenses are ballooning into six figures.

 

Bob’s wife Jen has been juggling the emotional stress and heartache as well as hospital visits, doctor consultations, baseball practices, and home. She is trying to keep life steady for Brady and Henry in the midst of the fear and worry about their Dad. Though now on leave from her part time job, she’ll need to return to it soon. Bob has been the breadwinner of the family. IF he is ever able to return to work, there will be very long road back to recovery, and massive financial burden.

 

I am starting this fundraiser to help Bob and his wife Jen, and his two boys, Brady and Henry, to give them some shelter as they weather this horrific medical storm. The Martels are a wonderful family who can desperately use our help. We appreciate any help you can give.
