Hi, my name is Autumn David. In just a few short weeks I will be having open heart surgery for aortic valve replacement. As an infant I was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and had my first open heart surgery at 7 weeks old. It’s been something I’ve dealt with my entire life; numerous doctor appointments and medical procedures but I’ve never let it bring me down. Now, at 34, the time has come for valve replacement surgery. I’ve found a specialist in L.A. to perform the complex “Ross procedure”. I hope to live a long, healthy and active life and the Ross procedure has the highest probability for just that! I’m an outdoor enthusiast and avid snowboarder and I plan to be back on the slopes before the end of this season!
I am blessed with a wonderful job with great benefits and paid leave; however my husband is self employed and will have to take a lot of time off work to be with me in L.A. and care for me after surgery.
It’s never easy to ask for help and I have an especially difficult time doing it but don’t want to put a financial burden on my family through this. Any help would be absolutely appreciated. I’m hoping to raise around $2500 (the hotel for our time in L.A. is around $2100, my husband cannot stay at the hospital with me so he has to have a hotel the entire 2 weeks we will be down there). Thank you to anyone willing to donate or who took the time to read this and send positive vibes, I appreciate those too!
