From Sean's Obituary:
Sean Alexander Castle March 28,1978 - June 28, 2021
Sean Castle, a San Rafael High School (SRHS) music teacher, passed unexpectedly June 28th at age 43 due to an apparent heart condition. He spent his entire career in education at SRHS, where he shared the joys of music with thousands of students, staff and families for 20 years. While promoting an award-winning music program he helped create, Sean was an ambassador for the school, projecting positive energy through music at games, graduations, parades and community venues. He was a student at SRHS and became head of the school's music department upon graduating from UCLA. His impact on those he touched, especially students, is realized through a sampling of their reflections of Sean: "Sean was the musical soul of our school;" "He was the first adult in my life that made me feel like a real human being;" "through music, he was able to welcome so many of us students into his heart;" "...He cared so much about creating that safe accepting environment for us;" "Every time I stepped into the music room, I found a place of comfort." As someone who couldn't get enough of life, his passions were many beyond music and teaching. A few of these were preparing meals for others, camping, golf, Giants, and backgammon. He had an attitude based on gratitude for he clearly appreciated the gifts of others and the goodness that surrounded him. He gave love and felt loved. Sean lived in Sausalito with his dear fiancé, Nicole Dube. He is survived by his mother Kris Castle, his brother Darren and his father Kent Castle.
