They lost everything. Like so many families in our area, my sister and brother in law lost their home and their everything they own on the Tubbs Fire on Sunday night. Their home off of Mark West Springs Road was one of the first hit, so they had no evacuation warning before the fire reached them. They, along with my nephew, barely escaped with their lives. The home that was once the hub for all of our family events and the location of so many wonderful memories destroyed. Everyone who knows them knows what enormous hearts both my sister and brother in law have. They have always gone out of their way to help others in their times of need, selflessly putting their own needs aside to care for those facing harder times than themselves. We ask now that you help them in their biggest time of need. They will need help rebuilding their home and putting back together the pieces of their broken life while still figuring out how to run and manage their family business at Lala's ice cream shop in Petaluma. So much of what was lost was irreplacable, but they can use all the help avaliable to start putting back the pieces of their life. We are hoping to help them with the basic needs items such as clothing and food that can help hold them over while they figure out the next steps they will take with rebuilding. It is going to be a very long journey ahead of them. We appreciate all of your help from the bottom of our hearts.
My name is Sarah Tognozzi and I am the sister of Jessica Andrew. Almost all of our family lives in Sonoma County, from Windsor to Petaluma. Many of us are still currently evacuated, waiting to return to our homes. Unfortunately when this is all
over, returning home is not an option for my sister. Jessica and Scott are currently staying with our brother in Petaluma while they figure out their next steps. Thank you all so much for your love and support.
