Taylor Wegner was born with an AVM (arteriovenous malformation) located inside her head and surrounding her eye. Since she was just 9 months old, she has endured countless surgeries, procedures, hospital stays, and setbacks throughout her life. Along the way, she has also faced unimaginable challenges; including having her eye sewn shut for treatment and undergoing multiple reconstructive surgeries after an emergency removal of part of the AVM.

While doctors in the United States have worked tirelessly to help manage her condition for many decades, the reality is that Taylor has been facing a lifetime of ongoing embolization procedures with no guarantee of what complications may come next. The veins continue to grow, causing pain, uncertainty, and serious health risks.

Today, we finally have hope!!!!!

After years of searching, our family has found a specialist in Italy who offers a groundbreaking procedure called Modified Electro Sclerotherapy (MEST), which is a treatment that has the potential to CURE Taylor and her AVM!!! Unfortunately, this procedure is not available in the United States and is not covered by insurance, but we refuse to give up.

Taylor is scheduled to undergo this life-changing procedure on September 24th 2026 in Italy. She will need to remain there for approximately 3 weeks under doctor supervision, and I, Taylor's mom will also be there by her side throughout this process. It's no secret that our travel expenses, lodging, transportation, medical costs, and other necessities will quickly add up. The life-changing procedure itself must be paid for before treatment can begin.
