Update, May 21st:
It is with heavy hearts that we share that Tank's time with us came to an end late last night. During surgery, the doctors found cancer where it could not be removed- in the wall of his abdomen. In addition, his blood was not clotting fast enough and they were unable to keep his blood pressure elevated, as it kept dropping throughout the surgery. Tank's situation was so far advanced, there was nothing more that could be done; the cancer was untreatable, and he would only have had a day to a few weeks if they'd been able to bring him out of surgery. Kellen was updated over the phone and she opted to discontinue surgery. Thankfully, she was able to return to the vet's office to be with him during his final moments as he crossed over. Our brother, Evan, and her partner, Tarem, were also there so it is encouraging to know that she is not alone through this heartbeaking time. She is, of course, devastated, but knows that she made the right choice in having the surgery done to find answers. And now, Tank is at peace and pain-free. He enriched Kellen's life beyond belief and leaves behind so many beautiful memories. Please keep Kellen in your prayers.
Because Kellen discontinued surgery when she received the update, the total costs have been reduced, but are still quite extensive. We have adjusted the fundraiser goal to match. Again, we appreciate any support you can offer at this time and hope that we can ease this burden. Thank you all so much.

Kellen's beloved Tank is incredibly sick. She took him in to the vet Thursday afternoon and was told that it could be a number of things, to include a perforation in his stomach, a leaking ulcer, or even cancer. She was given the option to have a very risk emergency surgery performed or to put him down because there is a chance of losing him during surgery.
Kellen chose to have the surgery done so she can have answers for what has caused him to be so very sick. While this choice brings Kellen peace, it also presents a significant financial strain that we hope can be eased by the support of loved ones. Between diagnostics, the surgery, and staying overnight with the vet, the total costs will be at least $12,000. Any contribution is helpful and appreciated beyond words.
If you know Kellen and Tank, you know they have been through many ups and downs together. They have been on countless adventures together and Tank was her lifeline following her cycling accident. The love they share is unmatched.
Thank you so very much for your support. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, we appreciate you passing this along and keeping Kellen and Tank in your thoughts and prayers. Every little bit helps.
