As many of you know Sonny developed chronic lung rejection of his first transplant lungs after getting sick this past summer. The doctors did everything they could to stop the rejection process with photophersis, steroids, IV antibiotics, etc. They traveled to Philadelphia 28 times for treatments since last July. The doctors efforts did not produce the outcome we were hoping for so on Jan. 3rd Sonny was placed back on the transplant list to have a second transplant. After only being on the list 2 days they found lungs for Sonny! We are so thankful for this miracle because his health had rapidly gone down hill is the last month. The doctors are very happy with the lungs and how the surgery went but he still has a long road of recovery so please continue to pray most of all! Amy and Lee will be living in Philly until he has recovered and released to come home (could be a few months) while traveling back home to see Grace as much as possible. Amy has not worked since July and with all the past travel and Lee not being able to work until Sonny recovers funds are tight and we don’t want them to have any added stress that comes with that so they agreed to the fundraiser. They still have bills and expenses and anything extra is a blessing. Sonny turned 17 in December and looks forward to coming home for the fishing season and maybe getting his drivers license. So pray for a speedy recovery so he get back to the salt air on his face and meat on the deck!
