Help for Sonia and Sam Torres
A few days ago, Sonia Torres (one of our coworkers from the Humane Society of Westchester), and her husband Sam, were victims of a horrific car accident on their way to work. Their truck was struck by an inattentive driver and was then forced to crash into a fallen tree. The tree smashed through the windshield, missing Sonia by mere inches. While Sam survived with only a few injuries, our beloved Sonia suffered a concussion and other painful body injuries.
Sonia is the very heart and soul of the Humane Society of Westchester. She is loved by all of her coworkers and worshipped by the animals in her care. Sonia is Momma, Abuelita, Nurse, and the personification of comfort, warmth and a safe landing for our most vulnerable animals.
Sonia and Sam’s truck was destroyed. Their insurance will not cover the expense of a replacement car. Sonia is home for much needed recovery. We would love to help them as much as we can. Sonia makes the Humane Society of Westchester the shelter it is. She works tirelessly and cares for every animal as her own. Please help, with anything you can, to ease the road
to recovery for both Sonia and Sam Torres. Thank you, for anything you can give.
