Help for Shawna's broken elbow
Donation protected
One month ago I laced up a pair of roller skates trying to make memories with my kids. Well, we made memories but not the kind I'd intended! Falling onto my left arm I landed up with a shattered elbow and eventually landed in surgery with pins and plates.
For the past 9 months I've been working within a government program (NEIS) to build a business and, unfortunately, hadn't gotten to the stage of buying income protection insurance.
As a self-employed single mom, I've lost a month's worth of pay. The stipend for the program ends in two weeks, and it may be difficult for me to replace the income being that I can't drive until mid-September.
I'm also moving in September and won't be able to do any lifting or cleaning so moving expenses will be increased.
Every time I half hug my girls they tell me how much they miss proper mama snuggles. It breaks my heart. With such a complex injury, I'll likely require ongoing out-of-pocket expenses to recover as best possible (physio etc), so I can care for myself and my kids fully.
The blessing has been a massive outpouring of practical support: meals, housekeeping and rides. I'm usually the one lending a helping hand, but truthfully being on the receiving end has been a gift filled with many lessons on faith. I'm genuinely grateful.
And now I find myself humbly in need, this time asking for financial support as my savings dwindles.
Thank you for any support you can provide. May your generosity be returned to you tenfold ❤️
