Hi everyone! This is a fundraiser to assist Scott Konger and his family with medical bills that will be following Scott’s open heart surgery and a week long hospital stay. 

On Wednesday October 6th, 2021, Scott Konger went to see a cardiologist due to chest pain that he had been feeling for the past week. At the cardiology appointment, Scott found out that he had been having mini heart attacks during the past week and that his arteries were 95% blocked. From that appointment, Scott was immediately admitted into the ICU at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Today, October 9th, Scott had a quadruple bypass surgery. Fortunately, it was a successful surgery. Scott will be staying at the hospital for a week after his open heart surgery for recovery. 

Scott’s life long dream was to own and operate an aquarium. With the help of his dad they started building the business. His dad passed away during the building of the aquarium and Scott faced a lot of difficulties as he finished. He was able to finish and open the aquarium in 1990. 

Today, Scott runs a newer and larger location with his children, a dedicated staff, and small army of wonderful volunteers. The aquarium seeks to educate about wildlife and also provides a home for many former pets that were in need of a home.

Unfortunately, Scott has no health insurance because he put all of his life savings into starting the new Tarpon Springs Aquarium. The medical bills have not come out yet but to reduce the stress Scott and his family will face, which will be hundreds of thousands of dollars, the Tarpon Springs Aquarium staff wanted to start a go fund me for Scott Konger.
