Help for Sarah to cover the cost of removing a brain tumor.

Donation protected
Hi. My name is Amanda Icenhower. I’m fundraising for my sister, Sarah Icenhower. She’s a single momma of 2 beautiful girls , a great friend and an amazing sister. She works full time at a job that she loves and is the custodial parent and sole provider for her girls.
Im posting this fundraiser to help her with medical expenses.
my sister had been suffering from headaches and other symptoms but when she Recently discovered that she had suddenly lost most of the vision in her left eye. She made an eye dr appointment and then discovered that her eyes were fine, but that she had begun to lose some sight in her other eye also. She was told that she needed to see a neurologist and she was quickly referred to get an MRI where the drs suspicions were confirmed. The MRI showed a large tumor inside the pituitary gland in her brain. It had been pressing down on her optic nerve and causing loss of sight. Thus begun the slurry of drs appointments and scheduling of tests to prepare for surgery. Although my sister has health insurance, the co pay for the surgery is $3.700.00. The co pay for each of the many drs appointments before and after surgery is $70.00 for each appointment and we were told that she should expect to be out of work for 2 weeks after the surgery. Iv set the fundraising goal for $5.000, which would cover most , but not all of the projected expenses. If Donations pass that amount, that would be wonderful, and they would also be used to help her financially as she’s recovering from missed work ,drs visits , various medical expenses etc. If you are not able to help in any way, then prayers are appreciated also. We are extremely thankful for any donation. And very thankful for your prayers. God is Faithful and we love and trust Him. God bless you and I hope that you have a wonderful day.

Update as of may 30th 2024
On May 20th 2024, The hospital agreed to allow Sarah to have the surgery before paying for it. Thank God! So the surgery to remove the tumor was performed. Because of the proximity of the tumor, (in the pituitary gland in the front of the brain) the drs were able to go up through her nose to remove the tumor. Sarah came through surgery and was released from the hospital a day later. Recovery was challenging.
A week later she had her first follow up appointments. She saw the neurosurgeon, endocrinologist and the ear nose and throat dr.
she was cleared to drive and advised on continued recovery. We headed home and i prepared to go home ( Iv been staying with my sister since the day before surgery).
Just as I was preparing to go home, Sarah started bleeding a lot.. She was hemorrhaging blood from her mouth and nose. We called an ambulance and headed back to the hospital. After arriving at the hospital it was determined that she needed to go back into surgery. I sat again that night in the large empty waiting room for the surgical department of Duke hospital. at around 12:30 in the morning I got the call that the surgery was finished and that it was an artery that was bleeding. I was finally able to see her around 2:20 am.
By the grace of God she survived both surgeries. Thank you Jesus!
We stayed over in the hospital again for observation and then she was released. Sarah is now home again resting.
She now has more follow up appointments and bills for a second surgery that costs almost 2,800.00 as well as the bill for an ambulance ride and She will be out of work longer than anticipated. I know that God is taking care of her and will continue to be faithful to us. He’s always Good.
If anyone feels led to help Sarah and her girls by giving, that would be appreciated. Prayers for Sarah and her family are also very much appreciated. Thank you all very much.
