Help for Colby & Noah Riley

This fundraiser is to help Colby & Noah Riley as they endure the loss of their beloved husband and dad, Sam Riley.

A little before Christmas of 2023, Colby brought Sam to the Emergency Department after having been sick at home for a few days, and he was admitted with the flu. What was expected to be a quick stay in the hospital became a rollercoaster as further investigation found that Sam had Aspergillus (or mold) pneumonia.

Sam's long battle was full of many miracles and answers to prayer. He managed to fight through being placed on life support, being placed on dialysis, surgery for a perforated bowel, being placed on lung bypass, having multiple chest tubes placed in 4 areas, getting a tracheostomy placed, multiple episodes of bleeding from his abdominal surgery site, and liver damage from the multiple medications needed to fight the original infection. Despite ALL of these complications, he was able to awaken at times to meaningfully interact with his family and medical team. For 2 months Sam defied odds, but after further complications, Sam’s family made the incredibly difficult to decision to let Sam go to be completely healed and in the presence of the Lord.

Donations prior to Sam’s passing helped the family as Colby took leave from work to be at Sam’s side and care for Noah. Donations moving forward will be used to help Colby as she faces funeral expenses, and payments on medical bills for Sam that started arriving weeks into his hospital stay.
