As many of you already know, our lovely Sam received the devastating news just a month ago that she has a bleed on the brain. Since then, she’s been on an incredibly difficult journey.
In those first few weeks while waiting for her results, Sam was completely bed bound, in constant, unbearable pain. She lost the sight in her right eye and could barely move. It was an overwhelming and frightening time for her, Paul, and the children.
Throughout all of this, Paul has been nothing short of amazing. He has taken on absolutely everything, school runs, cooking, cleaning, hospital visits, caring for the children, and supporting Sam in every possible way.
A few weeks later, Sam underwent surgery to remove what they found to be a blood filled cyst, and things finally seemed to be improving. But just a week on, the unbearable pain returned. After another emergency CT scan yesterday, more blood has appeared. The doctors aren’t yet sure what this means, and Sam now faces another week of waiting before they can decide the next steps.
On top of this emotional and physical strain, Sam has been signed off work until at least the end of April, though realistically, it is likely to be much longer. She is currently receiving only statutory sick pay, which places even more pressure on the family during an already overwhelming time.
With three children, a household to run, and Sam’s health taking priority, finances are becoming another source of worry, something they simply shouldn’t have to deal with right now.
Anyone who knows Sam knows how kind hearted, caring, and utterly selfless she is. If you’re able to offer any support, no matter how small, it would mean the world to her and her family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Sam’s story and for any help you can give.
