Help for Sally's Care
Donation protected
Hi everyone. Many of you know about Sally's serious car accident on the 9th of December. Sally's transit van collided with a tree on a remote road west of the Blue Mountains. The impact caused the cabin to collapse and she remained trapped for 8 hours before rescue services were able to free her. It took 90 minutes to release her from the van and then she had to be transported to Westmead hospital by road. Cloud cover prevented the rescue helicopter from air lifting her; her legs had started to die off after so many hours of being trapped. For almost 3 days, we did not know if she would survive. In the past week, she has had 7 surgeries, including massive skin grafts and the reconstruction of both legs. It is hoped she will be transferred to Coffs Hospital soon for the long process of rehabilitation.
With all this happening, I have had to take time off work and organise everything to do with Sally's recovery. I am frantically organising a room for her so she can eventually recover at home with myself and Misty. I have exhausted my savings on flights, petrol, towing fees, accommodation etc. I am also trying to keep our home-life for Misty as normal as possible.
Your help will go towards a bed, wheelchair, shower chair, other necessary medical needs, and also towards our life expenses until I can go back to work.
I did not anticipate ever asking for help again but I'm getting worried about how we will manage in the next few months. If you can contribute, we would be so grateful. However, I appreciate it's Xmas and times are tough for everyone these days.
Thank you.
