Help for Ryan: A Father’s Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley, and I’m fundraising for my brother Ryan, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. The funds will help support his family during this difficult time.

Two months ago, Ryan was working full-time and spending his days off exploring new trails with his kids. Today, he’s fighting for his life in Vancouver General Hospital. At 46, this devoted father of two is battling acute leukemia with courage and determination. Every donation helps Ryan, his wife Kelli, and their children (ages 5 and 10) stay afloat while he focuses on beating this disease and coming home to his family.

My brother Ryan is 46 years old — a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Two months ago, one phone call changed everything.

Ryan had been feeling unusually tired. When the night sweats started, he knew something was wrong. After routine blood work, he received the call that would turn his life upside down: he was told to get to the hospital immediately. At Abbotsford Regional Hospital, doctors delivered the devastating news — Ryan has acute leukemia. Within hours, he was transferred by ambulance to Vancouver General Hospital, where aggressive treatment began right away.

The leukemia had already spread to his brain, requiring weekly lumbar punctures and intensive chemotherapy. Soon, Ryan will undergo a stem cell transplant — a critical next step in his fight for survival. His doctors are optimistic, but the road ahead is long and grueling.

Ryan has always been the kind of dad who never missed a chance to take his kids mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, or exploring the outdoors. He’s strong, active, and full of life. Now, instead of mountain trails, his days are spent in treatment wards facing unimaginable challenges. Despite everything, he meets each day with strength and determination. His greatest motivation is simple: getting back to his family and the life he loves.

His wife, Kelli, is holding their family together — working as an educational assistant, caring for their kids and visiting Ryan at the hospital whenever she can. The emotional weight is crushing. The financial pressure is mounting.

Ryan’s illness means no income from his job. Kelli’s salary and short term disability can’t cover their mortgage, groceries, gas and parking fees for hospital visits, and the countless expenses that come with a medical crisis of this magnitude. They need help.

*How Your Donation Helps:*

Every dollar goes directly toward:

- Mortgage and household bills
- Groceries and daily necessities for Kelli and the kids
- Gas and parking for hospital visits
- Childcare support so Kelli can be with Ryan
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance

We’ve set a goal to help Ryan’s family stay financially stable through his treatment and recovery. No amount is too small — every donation brings them one step closer to stability and gives Ryan the peace of mind to focus entirely on healing.

Our family is deeply grateful for every message, prayer, and contribution. Your kindness gives Ryan strength and reminds him he’s not fighting alone. With your support, love, and prayers behind him, we believe Ryan can overcome this.
