Help for Rubanenko family

Hi, my name is Katie and I’ve created this fundraiser to help my brother Mikhail Rubanenko and his family pay for living expenses. Mikey has a beautiful family, a two year old son named Serge and he and his wife Anastasia are expecting another boy in April. The day after Thanksgiving, Mikey woke up with a severe headache, numbness, difficulty walking, seeing and talking. He was taken to the hospital, at the hospital he found out that he had suffered an acute ischemic stroke. After further testing doctors also found that he had a thoracic aortic aneurysm measuring 4.6 centimeters . Due to his aneurysm he is restricted from heavy lifting, he cannot lift objects over 10 pounds as his aneurysm can rupture or dissect. Since the stroke Mikey has been unable to work and provide for his family. Mikey was self employed, working in residential construction, he was the main provider for their growing family. Mikey has been working hard with his physical therapist and has made great progress. He still suffers from severe headaches, muscle spasms and numbness. On February 3rd, Mikey was driving and had to pull over due to sharp chest pain, and dizziness. He was once again taken to the hospital. At the hospital he was diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve. He will require open heart surgery for his bicuspid aortic valve and aneurysm. He was unable to have surgery until the aneurysm reaches 5.5 centimeters. Now that he has been diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve he will require surgery sooner. He will be undergoing further testing after which surgery will be completed. The lack of finances has become a great stress and worry for Mikey. Unable to work and provide for his family has added a tremendous amount of stress to all his health issues. After surgery he will require time to recover and he will never be able to work in construction again. His stroke has affected his memory, therefore learning a new trade has been extremely difficult. We ask that you support Mikey and his family through this difficult time. Please donate for rent, utilities, and gas for his many appointments. We also for prayers for Mikey’s health as well as Anastasia’s pregnancy and delivery. Serge was born preterm, therefore we ask for prayers so that she can carry their baby boy full term.
