Hi! My name is Roo. I’m an 8 month old Blue Heeler. My parents are Tatum and Caleb. They found me when I was 2 months old, lost in the city on a very hot summer day. They took me home, gave me water and tried to find my owners. They even took me to the vet to make sure I was okay. When my owners couldn’t be found they gave me a home! I love playing with my toys, going camping and going to the dog park to make new friends! I also LOVE to chew on things. A few days ago I was chewing on stuff and swallowed something I shouldn’t have. It made my tummy hurt and I couldn't keep my food down so my parents took me to the vet. They took xrays of my tummy and saw that I had a piece of metal in my stomach and a blockage in my intestines that caused “bunching”. They said I would need emergency surgery! Yikes!”
Last night my daughter and her boyfriend experienced every pet parents’ worse nightmare - their beloved baby would need surgery to live! They are a young couple just starting out their lives together. Roo is everything to them and they provide a good life for him, but like a lot of people, they live paycheck to paycheck and were not prepared for something like this to happen. Anything you can donate will help and is greatly appreciated!
