Since posing this story on Friday, January 27, my brother Ron has since lost his battle to cancer on Tuesday, January 31. But his family still needs help with medical bills, finances, and funeral costs. Thank you so much to those who have already donated and to those who are still willing to help. Every little bit helps. Thank you and God Bless! My name is Pam and my fundraiser is for my brother Ron Skipper. He's a son, a brother, a husband of 33 years, a father, and a papa to 5 beautiful granddaughters. He has always been one to stay strong, put up a fight, goof off and have a good time. He rarely shows that soft side unless it's for his grand baby princesses. Each has their papa wrapped around their finger.
In October of 2020, his twin sons were involved in a car accident. One son survived while the other didn't. In the midst of this pain and grief, the state found the surviving twin guilty of vehicular manslaughter. And in January 2022 his son was sent to prison. While struggling to adjust, Ron was hit with another blow. In June of 2022 Ron was diagnosed with stage 2 neck and throat cancer.
The cancer has become very aggressive and is progressing rapidly. Within 2 months his cancer has progressed from stage 2 to stage 4. Growing this quickly, treatment is no longer an option. Hospice has now stepped in. Being the "tough as nails" guy that Ron is, this is very difficult for him to come to terms with in such a short amount of time. His time remaining is up to 6 months based on how fast his cancer is progressing.
Hospice care has advised his wife, Melissa, to begin planning end of life services. The family is utilizing this fundraiser to help with those costs as well as any out of pocket expenses, medically and financially. We kindly ask you to consider helping this family, who's gone though more than enough struggles, and to share their story.
