Dear Twin Cities Martial Arts Community,
This is Lynn Meyer from Rising Sun Martial Arts Supply in St Paul. We have been a fixture in the martial arts community for the past 37 years and we have made it through many things over that time- many downturns in the economy and my husband John’s stroke in 1996 and passing in 2012. You have been with us all along. We have grown up together and watched our families grow, we have laughed and cried together over the years. We have weathered everything and made it through. Not a week goes by when people don’t stop by to catch up on things or to say goodbye as they are moving out of town. I am constantly told that we are a landmark and it always makes me heartened by the way that the community has embraced us over the years.
But there is one thing that has truly threatened our existence and this pandemic is it.
Those that know me well, know that I HATE asking for help. During my husband’s illness I had people actually chastise me for not allowing them to help us. I have always found a way to make it through.
But now I am asking for your help to keep us afloat. It would be great if you were able to purchase something from us. But if there is nothing that you need at this time, I would ask you to help us by purchasing a gift certificate or donating even 1.00 to our Go Fund Me page.
I just want to get back to a place where it can be normal and you guys can come in and tell me how hard you’re training and I can tell you how I remember you when you were a teenager. Or when your parents were teenagers.
A little help will tide us through until life is more normal. If you have been coming here a long time and you are gainfully employed, I would really appreciate the boost no matter what it is.
The Twin Cities needs a place where people can pick up their supplies, flip them around, try them on and just hang out to talk about martial arts.
I look forward to being here so we can commiserate on how hard this is, but that we all made it through yet again.
