My dad, Reynaldo Reyes, has always been the heart of our family and a beloved member of our community. For over 32 years, he drove a school bus and became everyone’s favorite bus driver. The kids adored him, and he always made sure to have snacks for those who needed them and a kind word or a joke for others. Even years later, adults would see him and remember him as their childhood bus driver. He also had a green thumb and took great pride in his beautiful garden. Reynaldo is well known and deeply loved by many.
He was always very healthy and kept up with regular check-ups, so it was a shock when, in October 2025, he called me saying he wasn’t feeling well. I rushed him to the hospital just in time for doctors to save him from a major heart attack. After that, we found ourselves back in the hospital with severe stomach pain, and that’s when they discovered stomach cancer. Only one of the masses could be removed, as the other was on a major artery. Unfortunately, he was never able to start chemo because his heart was too weak, and his health continued to decline. Since October, he has had seven lengthy hospital stays, and now we are watching him fight for his life, with doctors and nurses telling us it’s just a matter of time.
We are asking for help to cover the funeral costs and medical bills that have built up during this heartbreaking journey. Any support during this difficult time would mean so much to our family. Thank you for considering helping us honor my dad and ease the financial burden.
