Help for Ren and Liam's medical bills

When we fell in love over two years ago, neither one of us could have foreseen how drastically our happy lives would change in December of 2020. Despite our best efforts, we were both hit by Covid, and the crippling health problems Ren had battled for years prior to our getting together came back and multiplied. Ren suffers from a rare disorder where her fascia and organs are in a state of constant dysfunction. The fascia around her organs is so weak that the organs won't stay in place and will move around, become inflamed, and get stuck in her body. As can be imagined, this causes a plethora of issues such as chronic diasthesis, a hiatal hernia, and complications in the distribution of nutrients throughout the rest of the body when the organs are unable to do their jobs. All of this has opened the door to other chronic issues such as pelvic floor dysfunction, major issues with the vagus nerve, and spinal problems. Her immune system is highly compromised and every time she's gotten sick (twice just this year), simple colds have escalated into bronchitis and set her back by months. She needs help with daily functions such as operating a phone or computer (which agitates her vagus nerve and causes a sensation like vertigo) or even driving a car. Driving has become an impossibility for her so Liam has cut back on his job in order to drive Ren to appointments and work. Due to her chronic organ dysfunction, she needs to be on a very strict and specific diet, air purifiers are needed to constantly filter toxins out of the air that her body can't handle, and she requires dietary supplements in order to gain nutrients her body otherwise would not be able make. The physical therapist has also taught Liam some visceral manipulation exercises he can do to help Ren. As one can imagine, these exercises (as well as many others Ren does on her own) are both physically taxing for both of them and take up a huge portion of time in both of their days. And new ones are being added constantly as we strive to get a handle on these issues. On top of that, Liam has also taken on the majority of the house work, as Ren is physically unable to lift anything or move certain ways.
As many people know, western medicine tends to turn their back on what they don't understand. She has seen a physical therapist for the past 4 years for visceral manipulation, and now additionally sees an accupuncturist who specializes in unconventional cases/vagus nerve dysfunction, and a chiropractor. While we are well equipped with our team of specialists and the knowledge we've gained through years of navigating these issues, our situation becomes increasingly financially taxing as all of the treatment for Ren's issues are holistic, ongoing, and not covered by insurance. While the decision to make a Gofundme wasn't easy, we've come to the conclusion that the real issue is that we live in a country where we're discouraged to ask for help and yet the only way most of us can afford health care is to crowdfund it. This us humbly coming forth to ask for help. Anything is sincerely appreciated and simply sharing our story means the world as well. Thank you for stopping by to read and if you're someone like many who's navigating their own health challenges we hope that our story makes you feel a little less alone. We're all in this together! With love, Liam and Ren.
