Rachel Lijewski Covid19 Recovery Fund

On October 21st, 2020 Rachel was admitted to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw Michigan due to breathing complications after testing positive for COVID-19. While she initially only required an oxygen mask, her lung function rapidly declined and she was intubated within the next week. Since then, she has been struggling to maintain adequate oxygen absorption and is still heavily reliant on the ventilator to aid her breathing. While she has made some small gains, her stability fluctuates day by day and her doctors have made it clear that it may be a long haul to recovery. The average length of time on the ventilator for their patients has been averaging 24 days. And then of course she will likely have to go through significant rehabilitation after such a lengthy hospital stay. 

While she is in the hospital, her husband Zac has had to take time off of work to care for their 7 month old and 8 year old daughters and to be on standby for updates on Rachel’s progress. He will also need to be home with her after she returns home and is rehabilitating. Our family has decided to organize this Go Fund Me to provide some financial relief while both of their incomes are reduced and medical bills are rising. We are asking our friends, family, and community to come together and help to carry them through this terrifying ordeal.

 

For those who know Rachel, they know her to be a kind, compassionate, and vibrant young woman. She is a devoted mother, loving wife, and is cherished by all of her family and friends. And most importantly of all, they know her to be a fighter. We know that with the medical care she is receiving and the power of love and prayer, she can beat COVID, make a recovery, and return home to her family. But, we also know that this will likely take time and that until she is home, her husband and daughters need us to help them through.
