Heya, I'm Bex! I've created this GoFundMe on behalf of my very beloved friend Jacs and her equally beloved sidekick, Puddin', who are reaching out for support..

This is Jacs' story..

"On Monday afternoon, my best friend and Chihuahua, Puddin', was suddenly and savagely attacked and mauled by a huge dog in a shop in Nimbin. In an adrenalin-fueled moment of motherly-love, I managed to wrestle the dog off her and, once it was safe to do so (someone else had control of the dog), I assessed her wounds. As her blood ran down my arm, I knew she was in a lot trouble. I kept pressure on her wounds so she wouldn’t bleed out and we rushed to the Lismore Veterinary Clinic where they began immediate life saving procedures.

Later that night I was told to return to Lismore to take her to a 24/7 Veterinary Clinic in Bangalow for further care as her right lung had collapsed.

By the time I arrived back in Lismore I was told to say goodbye to my baby girl as she could not hold pressure in her lungs and they were certain she was going to die. Yet, by some miracle, her lung just sealed enough that she was stable enough to be transferred, still with a high risk that she could die on the way as her blood oxygen continued to drop.

In true fighter fashion, Puddin' made it to the next vet alive and more intensive treatment continued.

Later that evening I was told that she needed further critical care if she was to survive the night - She had air leaking out into her body cavity and her lung had fully collapsed.

At the Vet's recommendation, Puddin' was transported by animal ambulance to the Gold Coast where they were able to keep her stable enough until she could have necessary surgery the following day.

On Tuesday afternoon, Puddin' had major surgery to remove part of her right lung and to clean out a lot of puss and infection that had settled in her chest. She survived the operation and is currently still in the ICU at the animal emergency services in Carrara where she is receiving constant monitoring and the best of care from their very compassionate and loving team.

At this stage, they are still pulling quite a lot of fluid out of her lungs and she has an infection that she’s fighting, but we are all hopeful for her recovery and return back home.

It’s been an extremely traumatic time for our family and for little Puds.

I have already paid out $17,000 and it looks like I will have another $13,000 bill for her ICU care. We are desperately in need of some financial assistance both to keep our darling Puddin' alive and to give her the best chance of recovery, and to also help the family recover financially from this traumatic experience."

Those of you who have been blessed to cross paths with Jacs in this lifetime know the absolute beauty and integrity of her big heart and strong spirit.

She has found a soulmate in Puddin' and their swift reunification will mean the world to all who know and love them.
