Help for Paxton West & his family- Heart transplant & stroke

Hi all, we are raising funds for the wonderful West family... Dave & Jennie West are the bestest parents to FIVE beautiful kids. Their 3rd child, Paxton, was born with a congenital heart defect. Paxton has been in and out of the hospital since birth and has endured more surgeries than ANY person I've ever known.

Reverse to a few months ago... Paxton had a terrible episode at school that almost caused him to lose his life. Thankfully, his teacher performed CPR and quite literally saved his life. About 2 1/2 months ago, the decision was made for Paxton to undergo a heart transplant... Paxton waited, in the hospital, for over 60 days for the PERFECT heart to become available.

A few days ago, the call came... and Paxton's surgery was scheduled immediately. The joy, fear, love, acceptance... all of it... can be seen on the Wests' video of Paxton receiving the news of his new heart.

Paxton went into surgery and the best news is that his new, beautiful heart is beating. It was the ultimate gift to him by someone who wasn't able to stay on this earth. For that, Paxton and his family are forever thankful. Someone, in their moment of grief, gave the West family the ultimate gift- the gift of LIFE.

Now- the not so good news. Paxton came through his surgery just fine. Again, his BEAUTIFUL new heart is BEATING. However, for some reason- Paxton suffered a stroke shortly after his transplant. At this point, Paxton's brain is in recovery mode. The medical team has kept him sedated to allow his brain time to heal.

Over the last 24 hours, Paxton's medical team has began to wean him from sedation. We DO know that Paxton has some movement. He is responding to his sweet mama's voice. Paxton is IN there and for that, we are so very grateful.... Now, we wait. We wait to find out what sort of deficits this stroke may cause Paxton. Our hope is that WHATEVER it is, is temporary. However, only time will tell. The West family is in the longest waiting game of their life waiting for their sweet boy to show more signs of improvement. They are by his side... 100%.

The West family have been complete ROCK STARS throughout the birth of a "heart child" and have continued to be ROCK STARS seeing this young man through to his teenage years. Never a complaint - only love and doing whatever they need to do to make sure that Paxton gets the care he needs.

As a friend of David's since LELY HIGH SCHOOL... and as a complete FAN of his wife and their entire family, I have teamed up with Tonya Murphy Cano (also a Lely alumni) to do what we felt in our hearts to do- to help this sweet family during the FIGHT of their lives.

David and Jennie need our help. They are not a family that asks for anything. But they NEED our help. Paxton has been very sick for a long time- they have missed work and income. They have 4 other gorgeous children that need their support. This is a DESERVING family and I am honored to help them raise some much needed money to support them through this period of life altering changes.

Please help us ease this family's burden.
