Help for Patrick & Aimee Nichols

Hello,

I am Sharon Nichols, sister-in-law to Patrick Nichols. As most of Patrick and Aimee’s family and friends know, Patrick experienced a life threatening medical emergency on December 13th. Patrick suffered from a dissected aortic aneurysm. This led to having major open heart surgery to repair his ascending aorta and fully replace his aortic valve. Surgery was a success and all was good for his release from the hospital on December 20th.

Things were looking good for his continued healing until a scary medical episode that happened on December 27th (his blood pressure dropped dangerously low plus he had an unexplained fever) All of this led to another hospitalization for another week. Patrick was released a second time on January 4th. Unfortunately this homecoming was short lived as his blood pressure dropped again that same night. Patrick is back in the hospital as doctors work to figure out why his blood pressure keeps dropping dangerously low. Thankfully all labs and tests have been good news, but has not explained the issue Patrick is facing currently.

 

As most know, Patrick works full-time in ministry for a local church and is currently in process of earning his seminary degree. Aimee is currently taking time off from her job working for a church day school. They have two adorable young children with the youngest only 3 months old. This past month has been so tough on this family. Not only facing a near death experience and continued medical treatment and hospitalization while trying to care for two young children, but they also faced an unexpected move from a bad apartment situation. Thankfully family have been able to take in Patrick and Aimee along with their kids which has actually turned into a blessing to have such direct support and help with the kids as Aimee focuses much of her time caring for Patrick.

 

Many folks have asked how they can help and bless Patrick and Aimee during this challenging time. I know gift cards for groceries and door dash has been sent, but we all know that medical costs are high and that the bills will start coming in soon for the surgery, hospitalization, and doctors. So this page has been created to provide friends and family of Patrick and Aimee a way to bless them and encourage them during this trial. And as always, your prayers are greatly appreciated.

 

God created people to be in fellowship with one another. To love and support each other in the good times and the bad. Let’s show this amazing God giving love to Patrick and Aimee.
