I met Katerina, her sister, and her nephew at the end of my trip to Ukraine this July. They saw me struggling to figure out what to do when my bus to Poland never showed up and suggested I get on the train they were taking to Przezmyl and from there on to Warsaw. They were on their way to Germany after losing their homes in Izium which were destroyed by Russian artillery fire. Katerina’s husband and son stayed behind to fight them.

We've stayed in touch with her since then. Despite numerous inquiries as to how we can help them, she's always turned us down. Instead she told my wife and I that we must come visit them once the war is over and they rebuild their home 

This week I told her I plan on going back to Ukraine in October and she asked if I could bring helmets and armored vests for her son and his friends (he's the soldier in the picture). Many people asked me if there was something they could do. Helping get this equipment would be extremely helpful. However small, any contribution is greatly appreciated!
