Hello, my name is Chris, and I started this GoFundMe campaign for my good friend & co-worker Maria Valoret. On Saturday August 19th Maria suffered a brain hemorrhage which left her without vision and some functionality of her left side. She was rushed to Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ where she was treated for a stroke and multiple scans/tests to determine the cause of the brain bleed. She remained at Cooper for 1 week and then was transferred to a rehabilitation center to continue treatment. The night Maria arrived at the rehabilitation center she lost consciousness and was rushed back to the hospital where it was discovered that she suffered another brain bleed close to the area of the first bleed. The cause of the two bleeds is still unknown and she was kept stable at the hospital and monitored closely until it was decided to transfer her back to the rehabilitation center to continue treatment and multiple types of therapies. As of today 9/5/23, Maria still has not regained vision and is slowly physically recovering from this traumatic event but is now having issues keeping her blood pressure stabilized. It is going to be a long road to recovery for Maria. It is unknown at this time whether she will regain vision due to the pressure in her head from the two bleeds. She lost quite a bit of weight which she didn't have to lose in the first place and on top of that the hospital lost her dentures which is now making eating a challenge.

Maria is 62 years young and is one of the hardest working individuals that I have had the pleasure of knowing for the past 15 years. Maria has 2 passions in this world, her 3 Grandchildren which reside with her and her pets. She has been working so hard to improve her life and the lives of those around her and this has put a sudden stop to it all. She will need to make a lot of changes to her home to accommodate her physically and medically will need to continue both physical and occupational therapy.

Life throws us curveballs daily, but this is a curveball that she cannot handle alone. Times are tough and things were tough for her before this happened. No one deserves this, by setting up this fundraiser for her we hope to ease some of the financial hardships she is facing so she can focus on getting better and regaining her strength and hopefully continue a normal life. As said above this is going to be a very long road for her but I know she will be on that road with a smile on her face. Any help is greatly appreciated, even if it's just sharing this on social media or sending positive thoughts/prayers her way. I would like to thank everyone is advance for the help and I can say with complete confidence that Maria does as well.
