Hey friends,
On Tuesday night our dear friend and coworker Claude and his family suffered a house fire. Amazingly no one was harmed but it gutted the girl's bedroom and many of the family's furnishings and personal belongings are ruined. There was extensive damage to the upstairs and at this point it is unsure how long they will be displaced while the landlord makes the necessary repairs.
Harrisonburg Fire Department and Red Cross have been amazing in the short term, but there will be several months of added housing and living expenses on the horizon. There is still much uncertainty right now and I will update this as more information becomes available.
If you can donate to help out financially that is wonderful, and sincerely appreciated but the family will also be in need of a short-term rental. If anyone in our local area has a place for a family of four to offer/rent that is the most pressing concern. Please contact me directly (Jenni) if you have a place and I will coordinate that with Claude and his family :)
