*Urgent Support Needed for Our Beloved Friend Battling Cancer*
We come to you today with heavy hearts and a plea for urgent assistance. Our dear friend, Cris Batista Geiger, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell cancer. We wanted to share Cris's remarkable, inspiring story with the hope that you might join our effort to rally together and help her in this difficult time...
In 2013, at the age of 45, she was diagnosed with stage 4 of this same rare cancer. The chances her doctors gave her for overcoming the disease were tiny, but after years of difficult treatments, she beat the odds and got the incredible news that she was cancer-free. Cris is a fighter and worked so hard to regain her financial footing in order to be able to support herself and enjoy life again. She has no family except for an older brother who earlier this year underwent a heart transplant which left him unable to walk or work, and who she herself has been supporting.
Sadly, three weeks ago, Cris got the dreaded news that her cancer is back. She just started a rigorous treatment of chemotherapy that makes it impossible for her to work. Cris is a massage therapist, and given the extended physical impact of the chemo, she will not be able to go back to work for many months.
We created this GoFundMe campaign to provide financial relief to Cris that will allow her to focus solely on her medical treatment and beat cancer again. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful impact in helping to:
1. Alleviate the financial strain of not being able to work, ensuring that Cris can stay in her home and focus entirely on her health and well-being during her treatment
2. Enable access to resources such as additional treatments and specialized healthcare providers
3. Allow her to maintain financial stability so that she can return to a self-sustaining life after her recovery
If you've ever met Cris, you know how big her heart is and how she has dedicated her life to helping others. Thank you so much for supporting her in her time of need!
