On May 2nd, just two weeks after our baby celebrated his first birthday, Grayson accidently turned the hot water on himself while taking a bath in the kitchen sink.
Grayson was life-flighted to Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he's received treatments for 2nd and 3rd-degree burns on three of his limbs. After two weeks in the hospital, we learned his right arm and leg were not responding to the theraskin treatments, and we needed to start the process of skin grafting; a therapy that meant several more weeks in the hospital.
Grayson is now battling MRSA, a blood infection in the PICU at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He has to overcome the infection before continuing with the grafting procedure. Currently, we are traveling approximately 4 hours round trip to continue to care for Grayson's two-year-old sister and keep working.
With the current gas prices, lost wages from our primary source of income, lodging and meals, we are asking for help to alleviate the financial stress and focus more on our son getting better.
